“Free Security Scan” Scam Costs Money and Time

August 25th, 2011  |  Published in free security scan

There seem to be messages everywhere telling you to install and update security software for your computer.  It might be tempting to take up an offer of a “free security scan,” especially when you get a pop-up, an email, or an ad that claims “malicious software” has already been found on your machine. More likely the scary message is a con.

Your free security scan naturally claims to find a bunch of problems, and within seconds, you’re getting important pop-ups to buy security software. After you shell out $40 or more on the software, the program tells you that your problems are fixed. The problem is there was nothing to fix in the first place.  Worse, now you've got some dangerous program installed on your computer.

Here's the problem.  Though the “alerts” look like they’re being generated by your computer, they actually are created by a con artist and sent through your Internet browser.

These scams have many variations, but there are some telltale signs. For example

  • You could get pop-ups that claim your security software is out-of-date and your computer is in immediate danger.
  • You may get ads that promise to “delete viruses or spyware,” “protect privacy,” “improve computer function,” “remove harmful files,” or “clean your registry;”
  • You may be invited to download free software for a security scan or to improve your system;
  • You may get “alerts” about “malicious software” or “illegal pornography on your computer;”
  • You may suddenly encounter an unfamiliar website that claims to have performed a security scan and prompts you to download new software;
  • Your search results redirected to strange pages.

What to Do

If you’re faced with any of the warning signs of a scam or suspect a problem, shut down your browser. Don’t click “No” or “Cancel,” or even the “x” at the top right corner of the screen. Some of these programs are designed so that any of those buttons can activate the program. If you use Windows, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open your Task Manager, and click “End Task.” If you use a Mac, press Command + Option + Q + Esc to “Force Quit.”

If you get an offer, check out the program by entering the name in a search engine. The results can help you determine if the program is on the level.

If you find your search results redirected, you may be infected with a redirecting virus.  You may need a stand-alone tool designed specifically to remove this stubborn virus.  One tool guaranteed to do the job is Fix Redirect Virus.

How FixRedirectVirus.org Works

August 14th, 2011  |  Published in FixRedirectVirus.org, Google Redirect

The FixRedirectVirus.org software tool for the Google Redirect Virus is really a unique tool for several reasons.  First, it’s radical because it really works.  You can try do-it-yourself patches and repairs, and free downloads, but a fix that really works will not only save you time but money in the long run..

The other reason why I consider this tool a revolutionary one is because of the method the software uses to fix your redirect virus problem. The majority of the other products offer one method: a sweep or a scan, or a detailed log, and if that didn't work you were pretty much out of luck.

This is not the case with FixRedirectVirus.org software. This tool has not only one, but NINE different methods for removing the Redirect Virus.  Most of the time the first method is going to work getting rid of the virus, but if that doesn't work, go on to the second method. If that doesn't work you've got seven more methods to try increasing the chances you'll be able to completely remove this nasty virus.

So, this is how the FixRedirectVirus.org software works to remove the Google Redirect Virus:

Step one:  Purchase the FixRedirectVirus.org software package by clicking here.

Step two:  Work through the methods presented on the screen, starting with the Combo Method.

Step three:  You will be instructed to download another piece of software, and run a provided script on that software. This is the number one method for removing the redirecting virus. This may take 30 minutes or more.  When finished, you'll be instructed to use a registry cleaner to clean any errors that remain on your registry.  You can use your own or a link is provided.

Step four:  If this first method isn't successful, just follow the steps provided in the other methods, numbers 2-9 in order. These other methods are known as:

Method 2 – The IE Method

Method 3 – The KILL Method

Method 4 – The Hitman Method

Method 5 – The Microsoft Malicious Method

Method 6 – The Malware Method

Method 7 – The DNS Method

Method 8 – The Router Method

Method 9 – The HOSTS Method

Just one of these methods will more than likely remove the redirect virus.  Now you've got nine methods.  So don't delay anymore.  Order the software that can fix the Google Redirect Virus now by clicking here!

Finally Found: An Easy Solution For The Google Redirect Virus!

What Is Fix Redirect Virus

FixRedirectVirus.org is a software program designed to get rid of the Google Redirect Virus from your PC. This application has been created by a computer technician in the UK who had his computer infected with the virus. After spending months removing the infection, he created several effective ways to remove it, which have all been included in his popular program.

See how it works here

What's Inside Fix Redirect Virus?

The "FixRedirectVirus.org" product is a software tool which interactively walks you step-by-step through to a series of high quality tutorials that will explain in layman's terms exactly how to get rid of the Google Redirect infection.

Why You Should Buy Fix Redirect Virus?

The benefits of creating a program like this are that you are continually getting the most up to date techniques to remove the virus,  you get to see exactly how to get rid of the virus step-by-step, and the program works on every PC.

Hi, My name is Mark Buschena.

I know you want to know if this really works.  I completely understand how you feel because just a few months ago, I was looking for a solution to my own problem, and looking for reviews and answers.

But I didn’t find anything genuine, and that’s why I created this website, to help people like you make an informed decision before buying.  I also want to share my story with you in the process.

Like many, I learned a lot about redirecting viruses the hard way.   I only wish I had known there was an easy solution for this problem.  It would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation.

Several months ago my computer became infected with a redirecting virus.  My particular infection was a member of the Win/Alureon family, a multi-component family of Trojans.  Somehow this got past my antivirus program.  Here’s some of what was happening:

• My search engine results were being modified (search hijacking)
• When I would try to go to a website my browser was being redirected to sites of the attacker’s choice (browser hijacking)
• This virus allowed other rogue security software to be installed.  In turn, other weird stuff was popping up telling me my computer was infected or at risk, downloading and executing arbitrary files, including additional components and other malware.
• My updates were disabled.
• I was unable to do a system restore.

If your computer is infected with a redirecting virus, here’s why you should try the Fix Redirect Virus also known as Google Redirect Virus Fix:

Stop wasting countless hours searching the internet for cures.  I read blog after blog in my bull-headed stubborn quest to fix this problem myself.  Instead I found horror stories from people who tried a free fix and now their computer was completely locked up, or whose only recommendation was to wipe your hard drive and re-install your operating system, or to throw your PC out the window and buy a Mac…

No need for expensive service call from an overpaid computer tech.  Virus scanning can take hours.  Do you really want to pay a computer tech $60 an hour or whatever they charge to sit in your home while they twiddle their thumbs waiting for the virus scan to finish?

No need to haul your computer in for service either.  I absolutely dread the thought of crawling under my desk, unhooking that rat nest of wires and hauling in my CPU, then hauling it back home and hooking all that stuff up again.  What a pain in the neck.

No worry about someone getting into your personal information stored on your computer.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t want someone rooting around in my computer, possibly getting into my passwords, financial information, work product, client lists, unpublished manuscripts and so forth.  You won’t have to concern yourself with these problems if you use Fix Redirect Virus, because you do the fix yourself, in your own home.

No need to sit on the phone with tech support as someone tries to fix your computer remotely.  I paid Dell around $240 so they could remove this virus, which wouldn’t have been so bad had they actually fixed the problem. The first night I spent two hours on the phone with a nice fellow in Mumbai, India.  Twenty minutes after he declared my computer “fixed” the problem was right back.  The next night, two more hours with tech support, and ten minutes later the problem was back again.  The next night they never did call me back…  I’m sure you have better ways to spend your time.  I know I do.

Downloadable product.  You don’t even have to go to the store to get this.  Even if it is 2 AM in the morning, it is available for immediate download right now, allowing you to fix your problem in seconds.

Multiple Removal Methods (in case one doesn’t work.)

Complete Step-by-step user Guide.  This removal process is not automatic.  It will require you to take a few steps.  But if you are able to follow simple directions, you should have no problem.  This comes with a user guide to walk you through the steps to clean your machine.

Money back guarantee.  Look, I can’t guarantee this product will work for everyone as everyone’s problem is different.  But this product comes with a 60 day 100% money back guarantee, so if it doesn’t work, you get your money back.  And it’s not going to take you sixty days to decide if this product works.  You’ll know within a few minutes. I think that’s fair, don’t you?

This product is delivered through Clickbank.  If you aren’t familiar with Clickbank, they a reputable, established business, helping publishers deliver digital products for years.  They currently have about 11,000 publishers and 20,000 completed orders daily.

Special discount price.  I just found out that you can get an instant 50% discount if you buy now. But please hurry, this special offer will not last long. And if you order now it comes with Free access to future updates.

You’ve really got nothing to lose, and everything to gain.  At the very least, you’ll be no worse off than you are right now.  At best, your computer will be restored, virus clean and running good as new.  Now that’s something you can really get excited about!

Google Redirect Virus Removal – Free Options

March 29th, 2011  |  Published in Google Redirect

If you find your search results redirected to websites other than what you intended, you may be a victim of browser hijack.

Scammers use malicious software to take control of your computer’s Internet browser and change how and what it displays when you’re surfing the web.

Symptoms your browser has been hijacked: Home page or other settings change on your computer. Links are added that point to websites that you’d usually avoid. You can’t navigate to certain web pages, such as antispyware and other security software sites. A seemingly endless barrage of ads pops up on your screen. New toolbars or Favorites are installed that give you icons and links to web pages that you don’t want.

If you are being redirected there is a good chance your browser is not only hijacked by a Trojan, but your computer is infected with a TDL3 or TDSS rootkit as well.

The bad news is this particular virus is tough to get rid of completely. The good news is you have some Google Redirect Virus removal options.

Free option number one – Reboot. I doubt very highly this will fix your search redirect problem, but it won’t hurt to try. Or, if your computer won’t start in normal mode, reboot your computer, press F8 during the boot process, use the arrow keys to highlight Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER.

Free option number two – Run a scan using an anti-malware program, such as Malwarebytes, free or paid version. This is available at http://www.malwarebytes.org. This may work to remove the redirect virus. This may also find other virus lurking on your computer.

Free option number three — If for some reason that didn’t work, another Google Redirect Virus removal option is TDSSKiller by Kaspersky Labs.

If none of these options work for you, you may have to go to a stand alone tool designed especially for this problem.
